Having lived through numerous challenges; I would like to share my journey from diagnosis through to the present stage of my life, proving that HIV and AIDS. I am a speaker and IEC Facilitator (Information-Education-Communication), living positively with HIV and AIDS since November 2004 and the budding author of the yet unpublished “AID My Journey”.

It is not a depressing story of my life but is in fact a celebration and insight into how to survive living with HIV & AIDS. The perception amongst the black South African community is that white people, specifically white women are not vulnerable to HIV & AIDS; my knowledge of this comes from actual counselling of the black South African community, which is partly what inspired me to share my status assisting in removing the stigma associated with the disease. They are in denial and terrified to acknowledge that they are at risk or already HIV positive. Due to the lack of knowledge and misinformation, the white community at large knows very little about the disease. To mobilise and empower the South African business sector as well as the population at large to take effective action on HIV & AIDS. This initiative is to empower persons to prepare small business plans, quotes, letters and essential admin skills etc. This initiative is to motivate and empower individuals to take this course information back to their communities and potentially generate an income for themselves by facilitating their own courses and in time assist in removing the stigma attached to the HI virus. The objective is to tour SA and visit 10 cities, creating awareness and sharing information and optimism that there is a life after diagnosis! My goal is to empower and educate through an interactive forum which requires ongoing tutoring to maintain awareness around the HIV and AIDS topic. Area and employee complement provided will dictate negotiations between the company and AID My Journey-Support. Where there are branches and access is within a 30km radius of each other, a rate for the talks is negotiable. Having lived through the numerous health challenges is in the unique position to add value to the training provided. Cindy has presented numerous talks and training sessions on a range of essential HIV & AIDS issues. Her ability to interact, inspire, and put the audience at ease ensures participation and success of the undertaking. We have a new topic of discussion every month and try to get a Speaker to address various subjects associated with healthy living such as. My talks consist of empowering and educating people on living with this life threatening disease in a manner that could, if handled correctly, prolong their lives. My presentations and support are aimed at Corporate institutions, NGOs, small and large groups, as well as Company functions and conferences designed to be enlightening and motivational.
