Units passing the tests are polished to finished size. The above test is regarded as extremely important and is by no means a waste of money but merely ensures the reliability of the crankshaft. When the final assembly is commenced, the assembly staff supported with the equipment, workshop manuals and internal procedures ensuring quality workmanship at all times. The Conrod Resizing machine as well as our Serration Cutting facility enables us to recondition conrods to OEM specification with minimum down-time.The Conrods supplied by our customers are examined for signs of stress (hairline cracks), twist, distortion which includes de-magnetis-ing.All small-end bushes are replaced, the conrod eye is also checked. Such replacements are press fitted and machined to match the new gudgeon pins. On completion of the stripping and cleaning process the cylinder head or engine block is pressure tested by using the latest hydraulic/pneumatic method. Each unit is mounted on the tester and then heated to operating temperature by means of heated water being allowed to flow into the various galleys and water-jackets under pressure.If there is any defect the operator, under the supervision of an artisan, records the defect and will take the necessary corrective action. An example of this process is the identification of leaking injector tubes and possible porous core. We offer a comprehensive range of Isuzu engines which will reduce the operational downtime of an operator. All units are issued with a standard warranty which guarantees our workmanship and replacement parts used. Where we do not have a specific engine in stock, we can remanufacture the client’s engine within 7 working days. The grinding of a crankshaft is regarded as a very sophisticated task. After grinding, the journals are polished to ensure longer bearing life. R and B has a comprehensive combination of dynamometer testing equipment with the capacity to test a wide range of engines. Comprehensive tests are carried out and a printed report, together with a certificate, accompanies each engine after passing the vigorous test procedure.
