VNA Piling prides itself on its innovative approach which extends from designing and manufacturing its own equipment specifically for South African conditions. Due to this we are able to offer substantial saving and alternative piling solutions when pricing contracts as opposed to some of our opposition companies who import their equipment. The company now controls a fleet of piling rigs and the full range of auxiliary equipment which enables us to perform on larger piling contracts. On a smaller scale the company has the largest fleet of tractor auger rigs in the country to service the small to medium housing market etc. We are able to conduct soils tests, prepare preliminary pile designs and provide alternative piling solutions at considerable savings in some cases to postulated pile designs and budget quotations on a risk basis if required for feasibility studies. His 49 years of varied and extensive experience in geotechnical techniques locally, stood him in good stead when the company was launched. VNA has become one of the leading Piling specialists in South Africa. VNA Piling, an independent operating company providing a professional geo-technical and foundation service to the construction industry. After working his way to the position of works manager in the Durban branch, he joined LTA subsidiary, GEL, in Johannesburg in 1979 as contracts manager. In 1980, he established the Durban branch of GEL, expanding the range of piles to encompass precast piles, frankipiles, diaphragm walling, tube piling and under slurry piling. In 1982, Van Niekerk was appointed as a director of GEL. He has proved his ability by starting as a trainee on piling rigs and working his way up to his current position. His hands on experience and expertise is a valuable commodity honed by years of practical experience available to our clients to overcome geotechnical problems as they arise. The company’s financial manager, Chantelle Chislett started with the company in 1993 and has been responsible for ensuring that all VNA Piling’s financial matters remained in order over the past 24 years. VNA Piling’s workshop has been expertly run for the past 21 years by Peter Ferreira, manufactures our piling equipment to our own design in a fully equipped workshop and at short notice limiting breakdown time or delays due to having to secure spares for imported equipment from overseas. Many of our other loyal staff members have been in the employ of VNA Piling for up to 32 years.
